Goofus and Gallant®
Although Goofus and Gallant did not appear in Highlights until June 1948, the feature was created ten years earlier by Dr. Garry Cleveland Myers for Children’s Activities magazine. Focusing on manners, behavior, social etiquette, and safety, the feature shows the contrasting behaviors of two boys, Goofus and Gallant, and allows readers to compare their own behavior.
