The Timbertoes®
The first Timbertoes characters appeared in Highlights in February 1951 in a story called “Mr. Timbertoe.” Soon to follow was a regular monthly story called “The Timbertoes,” featuring a little wooden family and their adventures. Today, the Timbertoes include Pa, Ma, Tommy, Mabel, Spot (their dog), Splinter (their cat), Troy (their horse), and Butter (their goat), among others. They live in a house in the woods and are skilled at making all the things they need--including their own games, toys, and activities.
