Kent S. Johnson, CEO of Highlights for Children, is presented with one of the first copies of the new Highlights High Five magazine by executives from Quebecor World. The new general-interest magazine for preschoolers, printed at a Quebecor World in Lebanon, Ohio, will arrive in homes and on newsstands in December 2006.
To celebrate the 1 billionth copy of Highlights for Children Magazine, the U.S. Postal Service and Highlights for Children presented the Smithsonian's National Postal Museum with one of the very first copies of the magazine, printed in June 1946, and a copy from the 1 billionth print run of the August 2006 issue, printed in June.
The United States Postal Service delivered the one-billionth copy of Highlights magazine to a subscriber in Dallas, Texas on August 1. University Station (Texas) Letter Carrier Richard Durrett delivered the magazine to nine-year old Madison Tedford.
