One-Billionth Copy of Highlights Magazine Delivered
The United States Postal Service delivered the one-billionth copy of Highlights magazine to a subscriber in Dallas, Texas on August 1. University Station (Texas) Letter Carrier Richard Durrett delivered the magazine to nine-year old Madison Tedford. Kent L. Brown, Jr., Executive Director for Highlights Foundation, Inc., Former editor of Highlights for Children, and Publisher for Boyds Mills Press, Inc.
Kent L. Brown Jr. served as editor of Highlights magazine for 22 years, learning the business from his grandmother, Highlights co-founder Caroline Clark Myers. He founded text book publisher Boyds Mills Press in 1991 and serves as its publisher as well as executive director of the Highlights Foundation.
