Poems from Wishes

By Garry Cleveland Myers, P.H.D.

The wishes

that I wish

Are not of things

to sell or buy

But of those things

that I

Can make come true

myself.

Of things

that perish never,

Of things

that last forever.

* * *

When a body neither sees

nor hears

What's not present to his eyes

and ears;

Has no imagination

Or practice in creation;

How can anyone

Like that have fun?

I wish I had more wings

in my head

And more temptation

To fly on them

With my imagination.
