Highlights® Magazine Launches 10th Annual State of the Kid™ Survey

April 18, 2018 (Columbus, OH)—Highlights™, the leading family media brand and publisher of the most-read children’s magazine in North America, has announced that its annual State of the Kid survey is live and open to children ages 6 to 12 across the nation. This is the tenth year that the annual survey will give kids a national platform to share their opinions and feelings, with a goal of helping parents better understand what matters most to children today.

 “So far, 2018 has been a historic year for children, whom we’ve seen using their voices in powerful new ways,” said Christine French Cully, editor-in-chief of Highlights magazine. “We feel that the greatest opportunities to aid the growth of our children and our society come from actively seeking to learn how they feel.”

The goal of this year’s State of the Kid survey is to identify who and what influence kids’ ideas and thoughts, and explore whether or not kids feel empowered to create a better, kinder world. Additionally, this year’s survey will revisit noteworthy questions from prior years in honor of its tenth anniversary.

 “With expanding circles of influence surrounding our children, we hope that this year’s survey results will help parents understand which voices children hear the loudest, where they turn when in need of guidance, and how they may or may not feel empowered to help change the world.” said Cully.
