Highlights for Children, Inc. is pleased to announce a collaboration with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation that will bring the company’s Highlights Hangout podcast to kids in several pediatric hospitals around the United States kicking off with the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (Orange County, California) and the Children’s National Medical Center (Washington, D.C.). This unique relationship will provide hundreds of hospitalized children and their families an audio retreat into a world of fun and engaging segments, hosted by Grammy Award winner, Tim Kubart and improv artist Juanita Andersen. Each 20-minute show features kids’ favorites from Highlights Magazine, including Goofus and Gallant, Ask Arizona, The Hidden Sound Game, and listener-submitted HangMail which features jokes, tongue twisters, poems and wow-worthy science questions answered by NPR’s Mindy Thomas and Guy Raz.
“We are so happy to have an opportunity to align the Highlights mission of nurturing children and bringing smiles to kids’ faces to the Ryan Seacrest Foundation’s mission of leaving a lasting impact on children’s lives by contributing positively to the healing process for children and their families,” said Fran Greenman-Schmitz, Senior Vice-President of Brand & Strategic Partnerships for Highlights. “Through this relationship, Highlights Hangout will be broadcast in hundreds of pediatric hospital rooms, delivering beloved Highlights content an engaging new way to the children who most need a smile”.

About the Ryan Seacrest Foundation (RSF)
The Ryan Seacrest Foundation (RSF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to inspiring today’s youth through entertainment and education focused initiatives. RSF’s first initiative is to build broadcast media centers, named Seacrest Studios, within pediatric hospitals for patients to explore the creative realms of radio, television and new media. RSF’s aim is to contribute positively to the healing process for children and their families during their stay by developing these centers to bring an uplifting spirit to the hospital community. We believe access to multimedia experiences will bring patients exciting and stimulating adventures to encourage optimistic thoughts during treatment. It is also important to us to reach out to the community and involve students from local journalism schools by providing them with the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in broadcasting, programming and operating a multimedia center.
