It was a beautiful day for a treasure hunt. Maddie’s dad took Maddie and her friends to the park to see what they could find.
Sam was the first to spot something—a shiny orange rock. “Look what I found!” He showed it to Maddie.
“It sparkles!” said Maddie. “I hope I find something good.”
Sam put down the rock. “You will.”
“Look at this feather!” Josh yelled from beside a tree.
Maddie ran over and said, “It’s from a blue jay. I see blue jays in my yard. I hope I find something good.”
Josh let the feather float to the ground. “You will.”
Lyla was treasure hunting by some bushes. “Look, Maddie. This stick looks like a lizard.”
Maddie laughed. “I hope I find something good.”
“You will,” said Lyla, tossing the stick.
Maddie looked for rocks, feathers, and sticks. Then Maddie’s dad said, “Time to go.”
Suddenly, Maddie saw the grass move. “I found something!”
Sam, Josh, and Lyla ran to Maddie.
“Is it something good?” Lyla asked.
“Nope.” Maddie pointed to a green turtle. “It’s something great! See you next time, little turtle.”
