It was almost Halloween, and this year, Marcos and his mom were getting pumpkins from a pumpkin patch.
When they arrived, Marcos asked, “How many pumpkins will we buy?”
Mom said, “Let’s buy one for you, one for Dad, and one for me.”
Marcos pointed to a big one and said, “Look, this one is big.”
Mom picked it up and said, “This is a good pumpkin for me.”
Then Marcos saw a bigger one. He said, “Look, this one is bigger.”
Mom asked, “Should we get this one for Dad?”
“Yes,” said Marcos.
Then Marcos spotted the biggest pumpkin in the field. He said, “Look, this one is the biggest!”
“Yes,” said Mom. “It is the biggest. It’s the perfect pumpkin for you!”
Marcos and his mom carried the two smaller pumpkins to the counter. Then Marcos pointed to the biggest one of all.
“That’s a heavy load,” said the farmer. “I’ll help you get it.”
“Our pumpkins are just right,” said Mom. “I think Dad will be very happy with our choices.”
“Yes,” said Marcos with a big grin.
