What You'll Need
  • two-liter bottle with cap

  • tissue paper

  • black paint and paint brush
  • stapler

  • tape

  • yarn

  • yellow paper
  • glow stick
What to Do
  1. Poke a hole in the cap of a two-liter bottle.

  2. Cut four 16-inch-by-14-inch pieces of tissue paper. Stack the tissue paper and staple the edges together. Tape strips of yellow paper to the top and bottom edges of the stack.

  3. Paint the character for the word on the center of the paper, as shown. This means “good luck” in Mandarin.

  4. Tape one side edge of the paper to the bottle. Wrap the paper around the bottle. Tape the other edge in place.

  5. Thread yarn through the hole in the bottle cap. Tie a glow stick to one end of the yarn. Tie a loop on the other end as a hanger. Twist the cap back on, with the glow stick inside the bottle.
