Extend the Fun
For younger kids: If you have a favorite beach, write its name on the sandpaper of your seashell-critter beach using markers. Extra seashells with holes? Knot them every few inches on a long piece of string to make a beachy banner. Display it horizontally on the wall of a screened porch or hang it vertically in a doorway or outside from a tree branch.
For older kids: Play a tame version of the shell game. Place three shells on a table. With your friends watching, hide a pebble under one of the shells. Then swirl the shells around the table, mixing them up. Can your friends guess which shell the pebble is hidden under?
