Action Dice [1]
What You’ll Need
- 2 square tissue boxes (empty)
- Cardstock
- Scissors
- Marker
- Double-sided tape
What to Do
- Trace each side of two square tissue boxes onto cardstock. Cut out the 12 squares.
- Write an action phrase onto six squares with a marker. On the other six squares, write a number of seconds or repetitions.
- Use double-sided tape to attach the actions to one box and the numbers to the other box.
How to Play
Players take turns rolling the dice and following the instructions that land face up. The winner is the first player to complete all six actions correctly.
Extend the Fun
For younger kids: Tailor the action phrases to your child’s interests: athletic actions, musical actions, performance actions, cooking actions. Make several pairs of dice with different themes. Cheer on your kids for each accomplishment.
For older kids: Straighten the house in record time with Action “Clean-Up” Dice: Instead of numbers, write a chore on each of the 12 squares. Set a timer for 15 minutes. Each family member rolls the dice and completes the two chores that appear face up. When you’re through, watch a movie together, take a family walk around the neighborhood, break out the ice cream—or do all three!
