Associate Accountant (Collections)

The Associate Accountant is responsible for multiple Accounts Receivable functions including collections, daily payment processing, returns and refunds, and preparation of monthly customer statements.  The Associate Accountant also supports the corporate accounting team through preparation of general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Process customer payments and prepare related journal entries
  • Prepare monthly customer statements, maintain health of accounts receivable balances through collection calls and efforts
  • Responsible for entry and maintenance of bank book reconciliation module
  • Validate and process refund check requests
  • Gather and analyze information and prepare journal entries
  • Perform account analysis and reconcile to general ledger
  • Review and process assigned journal entries
  • Post customer payments to accounts
  • Contact customers who are late with payments and obtain commitment to pay, with successful follow-up of payments
  • Work with Customer Experience teams to resolve customer billing and other issues


  • Associate Degree in Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of two years of Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable or basic accounting experience in a fast-paced, growing environment required
  • Technically savvy; able to learn new computer applications quickly
  • Strong process orientation; organized and detail oriented; committed to procedures with focus on internal controls, operational excellence and process improvement
  • Professional demeanor; customer-service oriented.
  • Able to work independently
  • Experience with accounting software, preferably with Great Plains
  • Ability to work independently, with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Intermediate Excel experience
  • Must possess highest caliber of integrity and ethics
  • Excellent decision quality; sound judgement and values consistent with Company mission, vision, and values
