Director, Amazon Marketing

The Director, Amazon Marketing will lead create and lead the sales strategy for multiple Highlights product lines on Amazon. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, ROI-focused, digital-centric marketer with a depth of analytic knowledge and experience to join our growing team. This individual will be responsible for implementing marketing plans that lead to successful completion of our revenue goals and brand awareness expansion. The ideal candidate will bring solid experience leading teams, fostering alignment across multiple departments, championing change and innovation, and developing advanced level marketing plans that generate results. This individual will be a subject matter expert in Amazon. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver marketing plans that optimize for ROI and exceed projections
  • Accountable for the P&L for Amazon across product lines and business units, including managing marketing budgets, achieving sales and margin goals, and driving acceptable ROI for the business
  • Accountable for management and goal setting of the Amazon sales channel, in collaboration with stakeholders/internal clients representing different product lines
  • Alignment of marketing plans with Corporate, Retail, Direct-to-Consumer, and Brand Marketing
  • Source and manage necessary marketing agencies to drive ROI and topline sales
  • Perform in-depth analysis of ROI and growth opportunities to make recommendations and implement strategies for improvement
  • Partner with product management teams to ensure campaigns and promotions are effectively merchandised and aligned with business goals
  • Partner with the Analytics team to leverage market research and analysis of the competition, customers, market, and industry trends
  • Leverage the use of marketing analytics to provide insights and make recommendations to reach the consumer in new ways and to improve marketing ROI
  • Track and report on ROI (by campaign) weekly and monthly
  • Actively partner and collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure all Highlights concepts and branding effectively translate to website
  • Coach and mentor staff members to ensure team success, employee engagement, and career development for direct reports

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Seven or more years related experience in online marketing; at least 5 years hands-on experience with e-commerce and online marketing within a retail environment
  • Amazon experience, including in paid advertising, is preferred
  • Must be proficient with web analytics and able to conduct ad hoc ROI analysis
  • Deep understanding of digital environment and evolving tools and platforms used to improve online presence with proven results
  • Proven experience with high level planning, cross-departmental integration and hands on tactical implementation
  • Able to translate trends into brand focused business opportunities that drive to sales and profit goals
  • Experience managing, leading, and developing a team as well as leading cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience developing and managing a digital marketing budget and portfolio
  • Strong relationship builder both within the organization and with external partners
