Director, Digital and Website Marketing

The Director, Digital and Website Marketing will head up all digital marketing and website marketing initiatives for Highlights for Children. We are looking for an experienced, ROI-focused, online marketer with a depth of analytic knowledge and experience to join our growing team. This individual will be responsible for implementing marketing plans that lead to successful completion of our revenue goals and brand awareness expansion.

The ideal candidate will bring solid experience with developing and executing advanced level marketing plans that generate results including: paid search campaigns; display and retargeting; email; affiliate marketing; social media campaigns and will also have responsibility for Highlights Consumer Websites.  This individual will be the subject matter expert where digital marketing and website activities are concerned to drive sales and generate traffic to all online channels. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver online marketing plans that optimize for sales and exceed projections
  • Serve as key support to drive ecommerce traffic and generate brand buzz
  • Accountable for management and goal setting of interactive, paid search, natural search, display, email, mobile, and affiliates
  • Alignment with Corporate and Brand Marketing
  • Planning for website content and promotion
  • Source and manage third party marketing agencies by channel to drive ROI and topline sales
  • Perform in-depth analysis of channel conversion, selling, and ROI to make recommendations and implement strategies for improvement
  • Creates, manages, and communicates online marketing strategy, content and calendar
  • Partners with Marketing teams to ensure campaign and promotions are effectively merchandised
  • Partners with the Analytics team to leverage market research and analysis of the competition, customers, market, and industry trends
  • Assesses new digital marketing and business development opportunities, provide insightful analysis and recommendations, leads Team to execution
  • Leverages the use of marketing analytics to provide insights and make recommendations to reach the consumer in new ways and to improve marketing ROI
  • Responsible for digital marketing budget, spend, and related ROI
  • Tracks and reports on ROI (by channel) daily, weekly, and monthly
  • Actively partners and collaborates with cross functional teams to ensure all Highlights concepts and branding effectively translate to website
  • Creates a motivating environment that ensures the ongoing training and development of digital teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Seven or more years related experience in online marketing; at least 5 years hands-on experience with e-commerce and online marketing within a retail environment
  • Must be proficient with web analytics – able to conduct, or assist with web analysis for PPC, SEO, SEM and web traffic usage analyses
  • Deep understanding of digital environment and evolving tools and platforms used to improve online presence with proven results
  • Proven experience with high level planning, cross-departmental integration and hands on tactical implementation
  • Able to translate trends into brand focused business opportunities that drive to sales goals
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce’s specific business practices and consumer behavior, best practice marketing strategy and tools, vendor management and project management
  • Experience managing, leading, and developing a team as well as coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience developing and managing a digital marketing budget and portfolio
  • Strong relationship builder both within the organization and with external partners
