Zaner-Bloser has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Product Management, Supplemental English Language Arts (ELA) located in Grandview Heights (Columbus), OH.

Reporting to the VP of Product, the Director of Product Management (PdM) is responsible for developing the strategic plan and roadmap across a portfolio of Supplemental ELA products and services focused on accelerating literacy learning. As the product owner, the PdM drives vision and financial success, while representing the voice of the customer, understanding market trends, demonstrating business acumen, and exemplifying a mastery of technical and soft skills that enable stakeholders throughout the organization to collaborate successfully on the creation and lifecycle management of market-winning products in this evolving educational space. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a hands-on approach and passion for positively impacting literacy instruction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall product leadership for the Supplemental ELA portfolio of products, which includes programs on the topics of Handwriting, Spelling, Vocabulary, Writing, Grammar and more.
  • Develop business cases that align with market requirements, are financially strong, and leverage internal capabilities.
  • Focus on data-driven decision making to support the conceptualization, creation and ongoing enhancement of winning solutions; facilitate this work by translating research-based market needs into compelling product visions and definitions, testing concepts and experiences with customers, and making smart modifications and tradeoffs.
  • Work with content, instructional, creative, digital and market experts to create concepts and guidelines for solutions that align with standards and current research.
  • Ensure successful product launches within the business through clear and consistent communication, collaboration and training opportunities with all internal stakeholders. Represent the product externally at industry, school, and district events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 7+ years of product management experience leading projects related to instructional solutions; expertise in both print and digital delivery preferred
  • Proven understanding of the PreK-12 educational environment
  • Ability to analyze, summarize, and synthesize varied inputs into a clear, engaging, profitable solution
  • Must think and act strategically while demonstrating the hands-on skills necessary to deliver high-quality products and services; Display practical business sense, fiscal skills and accountability; expertise in budgeting, project approval, and forecasting spending
  • Confident, objective, inquisitive, motivated, collaborative communicator who thrives in evolving market conditions.
  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate across functional teams
