National Literacy Manager


  • Support the achievement and exceeding of revenue goals for Zaner Bloser literacy solutions across all product lines
  • Deliver engaging and competitive solution sales presentations, workshops, and conference sessions of Zaner Bloser literacy solutions
  • Support Sales team with curriculum and educational issues expertise to inform regional and localized strategy and territory planning
  • Providing expertise in the development and delivery of Training and Internal Professional Development on ZB Solutions and related market issues to support positioning and selling
  • Provide subject matter expertise to presentation development, RFPs, and input to bids and contracts as assigned.
  • Manage program pilots including an approval process  and assure pilots receive the appropriate support to win the business
  • Work with Marketing to lend subject matter expertise to create content for use in regionalized social media and other marketing initiatives
  • Champion Sales Initiatives with support from marketing and other departments; such as the ZB National Handwriting Contest
  • Provide expertise to inform targeted regional, state, and local Sales/ Marketing Campaigns
  • Provide continuous input on product and market issues through a process developed by Marketing and Product Development
  • Develop and nurture long term relationships in key accounts, understanding their needs in the support of sales efforts
  • Identify educational market conditions, including competition, and apply this knowledge to regional sales strategy and tactics
  • Other responsibilities as directed by Vice President Sales and Director of Literacy to support the needs of the business


  • Motivated, action oriented  with a focus on new business acquisition
  • Goal driven and focused on ZB exceeding revenue targets
  • Able to communicate credibly
  • Effectively collaborate with team members across all levels of the organization
  • Content and curriculum expertise with a focus on  literacy trends and research
  • Superior presentation skills (live and remote)
  • Knowledgeable in the use of market research and data to inform strategy and tactics
  • Superior knowledge of Customer Relationship Management software (e.g. Salesforce),  remote meeting platforms, and MS Office
  • Ability to work outside the home 65% of the time including overnight travel as appropriate to cover territory


  • Proven experience in the areas of responsibilities
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the educational solutions selling environment
  • Superior business acumen, understanding of solution sales processes, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven literacy content and curriculum expertise with a knowledge of current literacy trends and research
  • Superior ability in the use of market research and data to inform strategy and tactics
