This position is responsible for the daily operations of the distribution center in regards to the Outbound responsibilities including; picking orders both units and cases, freight and manifest.  The key functions of this position are to create, review, and enhance all procedures within the distribution center to ensure that the level of service provided meets and/or exceeds customer’s expectations.  Excellent communication skills with both internal and external parties are imperative.  This position also helps in the long term planning, and makes recommendations for improved quality, productivity, and space utilization.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the distribution center and its associates operate with established safety guidelines.
  • Monitors operations hourly & daily to ensure that performance standards are being met.
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and reviewing job performance standards.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations for outbound areas.
  • Develop, mentor and coach direct reports to ensure effectiveness and quality of delivery. 
  • Prepare and deliver performance review for direct reports.
  • Supervise, assign, and coordinate workflow among direct reports.
  • Create and document operational procedures and associate training.
  • Test, implement, and monitor warehouse management system changes and upgrades.
  • Works with our external logistics company to coordinate outbound freight shipments.
  • Manage and procure distribution supply inventory (i.e. corrugate, tape, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate attendance records for all director reports.
  • Operate powered equipment.
  • Push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.; stand for long periods of time.


  • High school diploma or equivalent experience, some college experience preferred
  • Minimum three years experience in a distribution/warehouse environment
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (preferably BookMaster or PKMS)
  • Strong inventory discipline
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective teambuilding, leadership and communication skills
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Proficient with office software, including Microsoft Office Suite
